The banks of Serangoon River at Punggol East, once idle and sleepy was bustling with activities again.
Building running tracks, installing street lightings and constructing resort style food and beverages stations are dotting the coastline.

Towards the end, where the waterway Dam is supposed to be built, temporary bridges are in place connecting Coney Island to expediate transporting of necessary building materials and structures.

Twenty days later, inspite of the raining season, workers are still working on scattered sites along the Serangoon River.

Between the banks of Serangoon River and Punggol East, workers are still working on the muddy running / strolling tracks. Somewhere facing Riviera LRT, the construction of a reinforce concrete winding staircase are almost complete, ( for access to the proposed refreshment point.

Further up there is another reinforced structure a metre or two ( under construction ) suspended above the water line, probably for fishing enthusiast.

One or two years ago, Punggol North residents had been talking and discussing in this forum about the proposed Golf Driving Range, located somewhere along Serangoon river.

If you walk along Punggol East, after  Riviera LRT Station, on your right, on the plot of empty land, you'll see this signboard ( picture 1310. ) This is exactly where our " Golf Driving Range " will be located.

Sla again call for tender, closing this coming 27th April 2010. Total land area is 37,300 sqm. Once awarded, this time round, the Golf Driving Range should be expediated.
