a german friend i hosted kanna dengue in cambodia after being there for only 3 days.. there seem to be some incubation period of 1-3 days.  on the 4th day's morning, he came back to Singapore.  he was feeling a little unwell, but still ok.  he hesitated for a long time as he had planned a trip to bangkok on the same night.  a friend whom he was supposed to go with didn't go eventually (so he went alone).  i gave him my thai girlfriend's contact.  when he reached bangkok, the fever escalated.  my girlfriend helped him to look for cheap and good hostels to stay the whole night (the original place he booked was too rowdy!)..  when he came bk to SG two days later.. he was trembling, complaining he was very cold, covering himself with fleece blanket.  but when i touched his head and hands.. he was burning hot.  his temperature was 39 degrees.  freaking nerd.. i accompanied him to the hospital the next morning, doctor advised him against it.. but he insisted on going back Munich on the same evening's flight.  finally sent him to airport..  he was still shivering.

i know i don't ever want to get dengue fever..

my neighbour living next door to me she has quite a number of plant display along the corridoor.
sometime if I see stagnant water reside on the plant dish I help to pour it away. To prevent mosquitoes breeding/dengue fever is a community effort. everyone has a part to play. My friend ever diagnosed with dengue fever he told me it was a terrible experience. I heed what he said.

actually you should suggest to your neighbour to take away that dish.  if you take it away, it will flow into the drains straight, or the water will evaporate away slowly.  the reason how they can form is because the water in the dish is collected in a small puddle.   i don't have any plates beneath any of my plants.  what the soil can take, they absorb.  what they can't, it just flows into the drain eventually.  i don't have any problem with stagnant water from plants at all.

Thanks shells noted your words. I was told those who ever diagnosed recovered from dengue fever has to be careful. To those who recovered from dengue fever immune system is low may have a relapse. Yes the whole body will shivers.
