To these Drs they have reached self actualization. I agreed this is a noble act. I applaud to that. But the sad thing is there’s only one is doing it. The rest chicken out.

Maybe as Doctors, they can see some patients suffer physically and financially. Medical costs are very expensive nowadays. It takes a lot of money to keep a sick person living day-to-day.

With such thoughts, I believe no one can really forgive the perpetrators of NKF saga as they are misusing the money which is meant for the patients.

I think you're refering to Dr Lily Neo...agree that the act is honourable...but she & her husband are both Drs, so that thousands dollars pay increase is really "peanut" to her, I think.

Having said that, which I agree with your points, we cannot take away this honourable act of hers ... still damn honourable

No doubt about the act. Actually she also "suey", ganna the Telok Ayer district where there's really a lot of poor oldies around. Her contribution (though may be small to her) is really significant to this group of pp.  Well then u dun see our Pasir Ris Punggol MPs do that, cos there's lot of yuppies around...

What PM Lee should do, is get all his Ministers to contribute 1% annual pay to charity or helping the poor. Then we don't have all this NKF saga, bad mangement of charity bla bla bla....  Anyway their pay are from taypayers, paying back 1% annually is "peanuts".
