In a recent interview,  MM said Singapore is losing about 4 to 5 percent of the top 30 percent of its population every year.  Some 1,000 people at the top end are giving up their citizenship. And he believes the numbers are growing.

But Singapore is making up for the brain drain by getting bright Chinese and Indians into Singapore.

But the trouble is, many of the Chinese then use Singapore as a stepping stone to go to America where "the grass is greener".

In my opinion, if the overseas talents were to stay in Singapore and become one of our citizens, the situation may be worse. As of today, some are serving in the RC'S. One fine day, they may join the ruling party and may stand for elections. Shocked What happen if some of the selected talents are from Europe....... angry.....cannot imagine if our future minister is an " angmo " Roll Eyes Roll Eyes or many " angmos "
