No lah.... in fact in the island, most companies work 40 or 42 hrs a week instead of the normal 44 per week in mainland.  My previous company even have alternate friday off leh.  Imagine every alternate week u have long weekend...

Hey, that's great ... do they pay extra as well ... heard from my friends that in order to attract people to work in Tuas, they give transport allowance ...

Some companies in Tuas give transport allowance...abt $500.  Now Jurong Island no need take boat already, so alot company also take away the transport allowance bcos they have bus to pick employees at certain MRTs.  Aiyah... actually dun have transport allowance better. for example the company i mentioned above give $500 allowance... but their basic pay is below others.  So it ends up the same.  Having a higher basic is better than having alot allowance but low basic.....
