I am buying a resale flat in Punggol. The flooring and kitchen cabinets are dirty and in bad condition. Bedrooms have parquet. I am not sure whether to keep the parquet, which means have to spend around $600 to sand and varnish.. or to replace with tiles. Any suggestions?

Also looking for renovation contractors. Anyone have good experience, and can recommend ?

Be careful some of the companies might state one price on their brochure but when you go down to their shop, they try to hard sell. Prices should not have to big a gap unless those in places like IMM have to pay high rents and they pass the rent to the consumers. Thats also possible

I think parquet is nice. It will be a pity to spend money to remove it. Might as well just sand and varnish. Should look grand after refurbishing.
