The Singapore Flyer - a giant observation wheel, is set to be Asia's most visible iconic visitor attraction. When completed in March 2008, it will provide breathtaking, panoramic views of Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
The Singapore Flyer will transform the visual landscape of the surrounding Marina Bay area which is slated to be the future downtown of Singapore. In addition to the Singapore Flyer, construction on Asia's largest business and financial centre has commenced and a 1,000,000-sq metres Integrated Resort is due to start operations in 2009. These, with three new uniquely-themed Gardens By the Bay will complete Marina Bay's "necklace of attractions".
Located at Marina Bay, an area on the east side of the mouth of the Singapore River, the Singapore Flyer is part of a necklace of attractions along the bay. Two elements, the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay and One Fullerton, a five-star hotel in Singapore already exist.
