Actually blursotong, i think it depends on individual purpose of having her child to be in the play group. I cant deny, that learning and socialising, is good for your gal. I had personal experience working in childcare in infant care. so i got to see the palygroup kids as well. BUT the fact that children who goes to child care will tend to fall sick easily is true, cause somehow the bug is passed on child after child and becomes a cycle. to me they tend to be more miserable because of having to take medicine every now and then and their place of exploration is limited  as compared to if you bring them outdoors to many new different places and they canlearn more things.

How many hours do you let your gal spend in playgroup. ? I have a friend who is a childcare teacher who says that as an alternative, you can bring help your child socialise apart of school,  such as  interacting with neighbours? maybe mothers in Punggol  here can  have a gathering where the children can get together too. CHildren also learn social skills from adults, cause this is the time they observe and imitate your words and actions.

my gal is 16 month old. maybe we can start a meet up?

if you reallly have to put her in play group, dont leave her there for too long like the whole day because i notice alot of negative consequences to that.

Hi,natmum,

You are right. thumbs up The purpose that I decided send my gal for half day play group is to let her learn how to socialise. Even thought, we always bring her out during weekend to mix with my niece and nephews.

In fact, I do agree with u, I do wish to have gathering with all the Punggol mummy and let the childrens have a chance to get together. Smiley  cheers

Perhaps, we can arrange to meet up at somewhere? Weekday will be much easier for us to arrange. Coz, weekend normally will have outing.  Grin

Cheers...
