Hahahaha....
But, sometimes I feel that being a SAHM is a great thing,
regardless if you have a PSLE, sec 4 or a PHd....
Ultimately, every SAHM wants the best out of her child.....

I think its the more educated moms who are staying at home now and their hubby probably earn the amount tat can accommodate the lifestyle of three. The lower educated moms are slogging their guts out for more income (my observation only). Every Moms want the best for their children. SAHM or not, its a choice of lifestyle.

If I stopped working, I will have to sacrifice some enrichment classes or some luxuries which I dunno if it will haunt my child when he compares with himself with his classmate in school in future.

Scenario:
Husband take-home pay $5000
Wife      take-home pay $5000

Total take-home pay $10000

Another scenario:
Husband take-home pay $5000
House-wife                   $0

Total take-home pay $5000
(can save on cosmetics, make-up, working clothings, high heel shoes, hair styles, friends, car, spa, facial)
(husband gives monthly budget)

Actually depends on the life-styles of different women and their spouses.

For my life-style I prefer to earn my own money to spent what I want necessarily. I was SAHM for 18 mths. The moment my son was able to walk independently at 18 mths. Life is free again till today. Live for 18mths as SAHM was like a misery to me.

Another scenario: Family B

Husband take-home pay $8000
Wife                            $0

No. of dependants: 2 children, 2 parents, 2 parents-in-law

Things to consider:
1. Most of our parents are in 60s I presume. Strokes are very common with the eldery. Medical expenses for stroke patients are very high......

2. If wife B has only 1 sister, and the sister also SAHM, own parents how?

3. No doubt economy has increase, somehow, it may go down then recession, currency depreciation, out-of-job.

4. If wife B has 1 brother, however, his wife is a SAHM, then how?

May be I'm worrying to much. Any advise?
